Apple and Cheese Crostini

Who doesn’t love a sweet and salty combination? The delicious flavour of roasted nuts perfectly complements this mouth-watering and crowd-pleasing appetizer!

Yield: 12 appetizers

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 thin slices of baguette
  • Olive oil
  • 1 tart apple, thinly sliced and tossed in lemon juice
  • ⅓ cup Nuts to You Peanut Hazelnut or Almond Hazelnut Butter
  • ¾ cup soft cheese such as ricotta, goat cheese or burrata
  • Roasted hazelnuts, chopped
  • Flakey salt
  • Honey, for drizzling

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Lay baguette slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Broil in the oven for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crisp.
  2. On each crostini, spread nut butter across the surface using a knife. Lay down a few slices of apple, then crumble the cheese over top.
  3. Season with flakey salt, garnish with a sprinkling of chopped hazelnuts and drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.
