Cinnamon Bun Oats

What’s better on a winter’s morning than a steaming bowl of oatmeal with warming spices? We use our Macadamia Butter to replicate the richness and indulgence of a cinnamon bun, but with a healthy twist!


Yield: 2 cups

INGREDIENTS

For the oats

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup milk of choice

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • Walnuts or pecans, for garnish

Glaze

  • 1 Tbsp Nuts to You Macadamia Butter

  • 1 Tbsp milk of choice

  • 1 Tbsp icing sugar

  • ¼ tsp vanilla

Cinnamon butter swirl

  • 1 Tbsp Nuts to You Macadamia Butter

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine glaze ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until fully smooth.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine the cinnamon butter swirl ingredients.

  3. In a pot, combine oats, milk, cinnamon and salt. Cook on medium heat until bubbling and thick. Transfer to a serving bowl, levelling out the mixture with the back of a spoon.

  4. Pour the glaze over top of the oats. Carefully spread it out with the back of a spoon.

  5. Pour the cinnamon butter swirl into a spiral over top of the glaze.

  6. Garnish with walnuts or pecans, if desired. Enjoy immediately.
