Creamy Tahini Gravy
This plant-based gravy comes together quickly and is reminiscent of a southern white gravy -- perfect for mashed potatoes, potato wedges, biscuits and gravy, roasted chicken and more!
Yield: 3 1/2 cups
INGREDIENTS
2 Tbsp butter or olive oil
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
⅓ cup Nuts to You Tahini
3 cups vegetable stock
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp dried thyme
Black pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
In a stock pot, melt butter on medium high heat. Add flour and whisk continuously for 1 minute while flour cooks.
Add tahini and continue to whisk, gradually adding stock. Keep whisking to avoid lumps until the mixture is bubbling and has thickened, about 3 minutes.
Add soy sauce, nutritional yeast and seasonings. Taste and adjust to your liking.
Keep leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat to serve.
